Rachel Stoner
(PT, MPT)
Rachel is from New Jersey and moved to the PNW 30+ years ago. She attended high school in NYC and Rachel participated in all sorts of activities including gymnastics, basketball, dance, Tae Kwon Do (competing Nationally) and Volleyball (at the high school and collegiate level). In 1991 Rachel earned her Bachelors of Arts from Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA, majoring in Greek and minoring in Philosophy. Following college graduation she and (her now husband) Brian camped cross country and landed in Seattle where she spent 2 years as an office manager. She began running, hiking, swimming and lifting weights. It was during this time that she injured herself and first received physical therapy. Rachel discovered a passion for the field and relished the prospect of teaching others to how to regain function and restore health. Rachel went on to Eastern Washington University to earn her Masters in Physical Therapy and graduated in 1999. Rachel worked at the Pro Club in Bellevue for 9 years and started at Advantage PT in 2011. She is passionate about teaching, empowering patients and looking holistically at all aspects of a patient’s life to make their therapy successful. Rachel enjoys developing long lasting rapport with her patients, many of whom she sees socially well after discharge from therapy. She loves treating all patient populations but is especially fond of runners, overuse injuries, back pain (she herself has had two back surgeries), TMJ and injury prevention.
Outside of the clinic Rachel is married and has two children both now in college. She has a Portuguese water dog Rigby and loves to “do a little bit of a lot of things.” She hikes, rides her peloton, runs, lifts weights, and wake surfs. Rachel volunteers her time on the Executive board of Temple De Hirsch Sinai and for the American Physical Therapy Association’s Education Committee. She loves baking, cooking and as a new “empty nester” Rachel and her husband are planning lots of travel.
