Sumita Rao

Sumita Rao, DPT, PT

Sumita graduated with a master’s degree in Physical Therapy from Bombay University,  India and later graduated from A.T. Still University, Arizona in 2009 with her doctorate in Physical Therapy. She has worked in a variety of settings and enjoys working in the outpatient setting treating patients of all ages with musculoskeletal conditions with a focus on manual therapy and individual exercise programs. She is committed to providing quality patient care by establishing treatment plans based on individual patient goals and by educating patients to ensure fast recovery and prevent re-injury.

She has taken numerous continuing education courses in Mulligan’s techniques, Functional Orthopedics, Strain Counter strain, Anatomy Trains, and Sahrmann’s Movement Impairment Syndromes to further her skills.

She is a certified yoga instructor. She has participated in community outreach programs like exercise programs for Seniors, community yoga classes and rehab programs for earthquake victims in India. Sumita’s personal interests include volunteering as a VOICE mentor for the Issaquah school district and at Eastside Baby Corner, yoga, travel, hiking, and painting.
